FIRST ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING OF AEC KERALA CHAPTER – A RUN THROUGH RECORD

The Official function was scheduled at 1100h. Quite a lot of Delegates came around to the house by 1000h. Having lost in the honeyed amalgamation of old legions, we really forgot to get the registration process underway. Membership forms were distributed to new members at the Registration counter.
OFFICIAL JAMBOREE
The formal session began at 1130h. Our Chairman Sri. K Joy Joseph presided over the function. Lt Col Sunil S Pillai, (Ex AEC, NE 69, Presently at NCC Ernakualm), was the chief guest. Sri. TP Mohandas read out the communiqué received from our ex ADGAE, Maj Gen SS Nair (Retd), followed by felicitations from Swami. Pranavashuddhan, Sri. ENM Achary, Sri. Govinda Pai and Adv. Senapathi Venu. Sri. Varghese VC, our member, who scaled new heights in the farm tourism arena and bagged various national and international awards, was honoured in the function. Secretary presented the balance sheet and the report on activities of AEC Kerala Chapter. Sri. Pradeep MP welcomed the guests and delegates and Sri. Murari KS extended vote of thanks. The session concluded with the recital of Corps Prayer with Sri. Govinda Pai and Sri. Karamchand Mohanji in the lead.
KEEPSAKES
A memorabilia on canvas was kept at the venue in which the guests and the delegates engraved their endorsement. A photo session was also arranged later.
APPROVAL OF MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION
In the post lunch session, a discussion on the draft bye laws was held. All the members actively participated in the session and communicated their interpretations and observations on the draft. The points were noted and finalized to accommodate for registration. Some of the important points are enumerated below :-
(a) Prime objective is the welfare of AEC pers and their dependents/ wards.
(b) Giving guidance and assistance to wards/ retired AECians to acquire scholarship/ job.
(c) To work beyond caste, creed, religion, politics and gender differences.
(d) Membership restricted to retired persons only.
(e) Entry fee for membership is Rs. 100/-. Annual fee Rs. 500/-.
(f) Every member has a right to express his opinions in the meetings and contest to any post in the executive.
(g) Strength of executive committee is fifteen.
(h) Fund can be raised through donations from members, Govt agencies and memberships.
(i) A joint bank account in the name of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will be opened.
(j) Society assets should not be divided among the members.
ELECTION OF NEW COMMITTEE
15 Member Executive Committee was unanimously elected through nomination. Appropriate weightage was given to all regions while selecting the committee. The following were nominated to the Executive committee :-

The general body delegated the new committee to speed up the registration process and initiate the activities formally. The meeting concluded at 1600h. Everyone returned back to their home with the promise to meet next time.
